Job vacancy – rock climbing instructor

Opportunity for a rock climbing instructor to join our team!

Rock Climbing is the big new adventure in the Sinai, and we have been leading its development for more than 10 years. To our absolute delight, we have a rapidly growing local climbing scene – and we need another pair of hands to manage it all!

The role of the instructor is to help develop and expand our climbing operations. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading courses and workshops for beginner and novice climbers
• Overseeing equipment inventory/maintenance/replacement
• Ongoing training and development of local Bedouin climbing guides
• New routing, especially sports routes
• Help us take the initial steps to develop an Egyptian Climbing Association

The position would suit a young(ish) climbing instructor who wants to get international experience, or combine travel with work. Or an established instructor who relishes the idea of helping local people develop a whole new climbing nation. We would also be interested in hearing from MIAs who could schedule 2-3 visits to Dahab per year for focused training and development.

Minimum qualifications SPA and ML (Summer) or equivalent. Experience with climbing standards bodies (e.g. BMC, UIAA, etc) an asset but not essential. Main teaching language is English.

Climbing season: October – April.
Summers can be spent abroad, or there is also the opportunity to learn/work in diving.
