Spend a full day in Wadi Qnai near Dahab, and try rock climbing!
Our Try Rock Climbing days put the emphasis on fun, but you will also learn about climbing systems and movement in a Top Rope setting.
Top Rope climbing is when the rope, which is secured to your harness, runs up through an anchor at the top of the cliff, and back down to the belayer.
The Belayer (a professional guide), keeps the rope tight against the climber as they go up and safely lowers them down. Even if you slip, you won’t fall.
The emphasis of the course is letting you try rock climbing as easily as possible.
You will also learn basic information about:
Our guides are trained to international standards. They will set up routes, belay and coach you as you climb.
All of our equipment and fixed hardware is rated by UIAA international safety standards.
Full day Try Climbs are October to April.
If you want to try rock climbing during summer months, do a half day Try Climb!

“Rock climbing adrenaline rush!” My husband & i wanted to try rock climbing for so long and we contacted desert divers after seeing the reviews here on trip advisor, the team was flexible and khaled the guide picked us up in the morning and went to Wadi Gnai which is an amazing location and perfect for rock climbing beginners. khaled was laid back and patient and he guided us step by step to this not so easy activity specially if you have fear of heights, he didnt rush us or counted hours till we leave, he made us feel very comfortable like we're spending a day out with friends, we loved him so we booked another day with him to Ras abu galloum for diving and again we loved his laid back attitude! i cannot recommend them enough if anyone wants to rock climb or dive in Dahab
“Day climbing in Wadi Qnai” We really enjoyed seeing this unique part of Egypt and appreciated the laid back approach that the Desert Divers team took - always giving good advice, filling in wherever needed and making great food to keep us going. We hope the climbing scene here in Egypt continues to grow and are sure that Desert Diver's efforts will really contribute to that!
