3 months Living and Diving in Dahab

On a Divemaster internship, you’ll learn how a dive centre works from the inside-out!

If you have 3+ months, this is the best way to enter the world of professional diving:

  • Do your PADI Divemaster course
  • Work on the Dive counter
  • Assist guides and instructors
  • Option to add EFR, Rescue Diver and extra dives to your internship
  • Learn a huge amount about how a sustainable dive centre is organised and run
  • Includes 3 months camp or staff accommodation, private room

Pre-requisites

  • 18 years old
  • PADI Rescue Diver with 20 dives: if you’re not yet at this level, you can add courses and dives to your internship
  • Medical sign off by a doctor (can be done in Dahab)
  • Dive Computer: by month 2
  • Dive Equipment: available for rent if you need it, but we encourage all DM interns to buy their own equipment as early as possible. You will need this to work as a professional diver.
  • Suggested budget for food/living costs: 350-500 euro per month

Schedule

Divemaster Internships are 3 months. Your start date is flexible, but the best internship periods are:

  • Spring Internship: March-May
  • Summer Internship: July-September
  • Winter Sun Internship: October to December
  • Max 4 Interns per season

Exact schedule depends on your experience to date, for example:

Month 1 Dive counter work (part time), fun diving, option to do EFR and Rescue Diver if you don't already have them
Month 2 Dive counter work (part time), fun diving, start PADI Divemaster
Month 3 Dive counter work (part time), fun diving, complete PADI Divemaster

Once your instructor signs you off as a Divemaster, you must register with PADI. Your PADI Professional membership is extra (approx 135 euro, renewed annually), and takes 2-3 weeks to process.
